Financial
Assistance
The Society (Himalayan
Institute Hospital Trust) is a non-profit organization that began
operations with donations from the disciples of its founder Shri Swami
Rama. During his life time Shri Swami
Rama provided financial assistance for education, research and
medical treatment to the poor and needy. Even today the Trust, through
its Hospital, ensures that poor and needy people are not deprived
of getting proper medical treatment for monetary reasons). Thousands
of people from the far-flung areas of the Himalayan region have benefited
from the financial aid provided by the Society at the times of their
ailment and crisis. The Hospital has a 'Sewa Ward' which
offers free of cost health services viz. free treatment, investigations,
stay and food facilities. The ward reflects the efforts of the dedicated
team of doctors and their belief on the institute's philosophy of
'Love Serve Remember'.
To ensure that talent
amongst youth does not remain untapped due to their financial hardships
in pursuing higher studies, wherein even meritorious students are
forced to withdraw from their courses, the Society offers scholarships
to a large number of deserving students besides other monetary help.
The Society is registered under section 10(23C) (vi) (via) of the
Income Tax Act, 1961 that provides Exemptions to University or other
educational society solely for educational purposes.
The Society is registered
under section 35 (1) (ii) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 as a Scientific
Research Association. The organizations/individuals donating funds
to the Society for research purposes can claim 100% exemption while
filing their tax returns. The Society is also registered under section
80 G of Income Tax Act, 1961 wherein the individuals, donating funds
for furtherance of the activities of the Society, can claim exemption
while filing their tax returns.

Physicians
of Indian Origin
Serving the motherland
is always a matter of pride and privilege of its citizens. Adhering
to the motto of 'Selfless Service' of its founder Shri
Swami Rama, the Society provides an opportunity to the Physicians
of Indian origin to associate with its activities. The Educational
Institutes, the Hospital and the Rural Development Institute under
the Society present a perfect platform to them for providing their
services for the welfare of patients. Sharing & imparting their
knowledge/experience with the student community by the physicians
proves very beneficial for them.

Eye
Donation
The demand for corneal
replacement far exceeds the availability of donors in India. The Eye
Bank at Himalayan Hospital is the only one in Uttarakhand and western
Uttar Pradesh. The Corneal Retrieval Programme of the Himalayan Hospital
has helped in motivating people to pledge donation of their eyes.
The Ophthalmology Department of the Himalayan Hospital is regularly
generating awareness for Eye Donation through Camps, Continuing Medical
Education Programme etc.
