The nurses play a vital role in serving the sick in the hospital as well as in the community settings. Keeping this in mind, the professional training programs for nurses at HIHT emphasize the highest standards in patient care and dedicated service. Apart from imparting instruction in science, humanities and nursing care, the students are sensitized to the basics of alternate systems of medicine including yoga therapy. The nursing students are also provided hands-on training in the community, especially in the villages. About Us The Himalayan College
of Nursing was established in 2006 by upgrading the School of Nursing,
which was conducting Diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM)
of 3 year duration since 1996. The College has started B. Sc. Nursing
programme of 4-year duration and continues to run the DGNM course, which
is of 3 ½ years duration now. Both these courses are approved by
the professional regulatory body, the Indian Nursing Council, as well
as by the examining bodies, viz. the State Medical Faculty and the Garhwal
University. Optimal facilities to explore, experiment and achieve high
professional skills are available for gaining knowledge and skills, which
are required to provide quality health care. |
